Finally, Back in Person

Greetings to everyone! I hope you are reading this while enjoying summer with your family and friends. Fall is not too far away, which also means that we’ll be having our first in-person ASSE International Annual Meeting in two years! After the great success of our last in-person meeting – the ASSE Mid-Year Meeting, hosted by Plumbers Local 130 in Chicago — I, and I think many of you, cannot wait for the upcoming Annual Meeting.

It was great seeing everyone at the Mid-Year Meeting to talk face-to-face and catch up on all the good and the bad. I was also reminded on how much work ASSE gets done during these in-person meetings. Do not get me wrong, I enjoy the convenience of remote meetings (and using the various platforms that we’re all experts in), but you just can’t beat getting together in person (at least a couple of times a year).

The 2022 ASSE International Annual Meeting will take place Oct. 25-27 at Marriott Mission Valley in San Diego, California. Registration, sponsorship, hotel booking information, and a schedule of events are now live at www.assemeeting.org. Please look at what we have scheduled for this year’s meeting and start making your travel plans accordingly. Since I have served as your President for close to two years and have still not stood in front of you all as President, I look forward to that, along with attending meetings and having important discussions and debates. During this year’s Annual Meeting Business Sessions, we will be presenting proposed changes to ASSE International’s Bylaws, which I feel will assist ASSE in moving forward in this new and changing world of ours … but more on that to come.

Until we talk again — whether by computer, phone, social media, email or in-person — please take my best regards and, on behalf of ASSE International, thank you.
