Plans for the Future

This past year as ASSE International President has been a great honor for me. The list of people I need to thank for helping me through this year is long. It may have been a conversation we had, an idea you gave, or your willingness to assist me as your president, and in turn, ASSE. Without all of this year’s connections and interactions, my first term as president would have been much more difficult. For that, on behalf of ASSE and myself, I thank you all for your time and dedication to all of ASSE’s endeavors – this year, in past years, and in future years to come.

We have gone through another year of meeting remotely due to Covid. The decision to continue meeting remotely was not taken lightly, as we all know the value of face-to-face meetings and conferences. As always, ASSE continues to strive for “Prevention Rather Than Cure.” The Board of Directors has continued holding its meetings remotely to handle its normal business. We have also added some procedures to these meetings to help generate ideas for the future of ASSE, communicate amongst everyone, and set a tone for open dialogue and interactions. You may have already seen or been a part of some of these concepts. Other ideas are in the works and are planned to be rolled out in the coming year(s).

As we close out this strange year and our virtual 2021 ASSE International Annual Meeting, it is my belief that ASSE International is financially stronger, member dedication has flourished, and our plans for the future will carry us a long way.
